yeah, i dont know why it slides back it might just be a freak accident, but i mad the front hinge just like the one you did. i am using electric actuators.
i had one like the one showng on your web page but could not find another one so i bought two new ones. when the front end comes down to the cowl and stops it slides towards the cab just alittle. i tried different vehicle latches but i could not get it to work right, i post some pictures on the latches, they are hard to explain and sounds like something some hillbilly might slap together with tape but they are hardly noticable and work great.
