I have a 1977 F150 4X4 truck. I have I believe a 360 motor in the truck. The transmission is in need of being rebuilt. What kind of transmissions are compatable with the 360 motor. And how can I tell which type of transmission I have. I have a 1986 F250 2 wheel drive truck and it has a C6 transmission. I believe the other truck has a C6 transmission but they look different can you please help.
Secondly, you need to identify what motor you have in your 77. Take a look at some of the "read first" info at the top of this forum on how to identify the engine. If in fact the 77 has a 360, the tranny is different in the bellhousing, but the innards would be the same. The 360 is an FE family motor and has a bellhousing pattern all it's own. Three types of older motor bellhousings, small block or Windsor, FE, and 335/385 big block....
