It has begun

I just ordered my SCMT. Now I need gauges, exhaust, an intake and bigger meats. Oh and a prerunner and lights. This is going to get expensive!

When you get your tuner be careful. I don't suggest it without gauges.

Yeah, I am going to run it on the middle setting, I do not tow anything and I live at sea level. Plus I do not have a heavy foot. I just like having the extra ummph just in case.

Gauges are cheap insurance. I would get them first. Doesn't take much to get those temps up.

Exclamation

GA powerSD-
What part of GA are you in?

No one can tell you what to do with your own truck but from hanging around this website and listening to the many very knowledgeable people here, you will be doing something that everyone says not to do if you install any performance mods without having gauges in place first. I would urge you to install the pyrometer gauge first if nothing else. The potential to destroy a VERY expensive motor is always there and it could melt really quickly with no warning at all. With the Pyro gauge you will at least have a chance to save the motor if something goes wrong. Look at some of the $6000-$8000 crate motors in the racing catalogs and consider running them without gauges or idiot lights. That's essentially what you will be doing without gauges. Even at the lowest settings and a perfect tuner, a failed component or a bad sensor could cause lots of damage.
Not trying to scold you, but knowing what I have learned here I wouldn't feel right if I didn't give you a heads-up.

Good advice Given so far, I would agree with what has been said so far and say Get guages. At least the most important one the Pyrometer. Knowing what is going on with your engine while it is running is better than finding out what happened to it when it breaks down.
