difference between f250 and f350
finally found out what the difference between the two is, besides the 4" block. talked to a guy at the ford garage here and he said that the f250 and f350 have the same gcwr because that is the weight that the truck can maintain 35mph up an infinite 7% slope and not exceed their gvwr or gawr. the f350 has more payload but the same engine, so it cant go up the hill any faster than the f250. he said that the manufacturers gcwr does not mean anything legally, which is why its not on the door jamb with gvwr and gawr. that being said, the f350 has 1100 pounds more payload than the f250. which means it can tow 3000 pounds more with a gooseneck than the f250, itll just go a little slower up hills with the extra weight. thats also why they new f150 has a higher gcwr than the f250/350. its a lighter truck with the same engine, so it can maintain speed uphill better. he also said that if you exceed the manufacturers gcwr and get caught that it would void your warranty.
