Primer sometimes can make a difference, but usually it's the color itself. When color matching is a problem, blending into adjoining panels then clearing all of the blended panels works well. Since you're just painting panels, it may not be an option for you.
Two suggestions - take a panel you've painted, and a panel you've not painted to your paint jobber. He may be able to tint your paint for you so that it matches, and give you some hints on how to spray (wetter or dryer) Or you could simply try another brand of paint.
