Depends on your state, in California they are still illegal. In most "normal" states they are legal. Manufactorers have been a little slow winding up production since the ban expired. Most thought a Kerry vitctory would result in the ban being re-enacted in some form so they sat on their hands waiting.
Even before the ban expired you could still get high cap mags, you just had to either pay more or get really cheap aftermarket ones. The mags just had to have been produced before the ban went in to effect in 94. After that some mags were still being produced, they were just stamped, "for law enforcent use only." I picked up 2 brand new 30 round mags stamped with that for my M4. I also have 2 20 round original colt mags with the same markings. I pretty much have them for collector purposes, although without a doubt, they are fun to use when plinking. The only other company I have seen mags with these markings is S&W. There may be more, but I have not come across any. After the ban went away, you can legally own mags with these markings. Just check the ATF's website. An example of cheap aftermarket mags would be like the one I picked up for my 92FS. Its so cheap it wont even hold the slide open. Probably could be fixed with some tweaking but am not even going to waste my time. I'm holding off to get a couple of factory mags for that just so I have them. I don't really look at these as being Hi cap anyhow, since they originally came to hold 15 rounds rather than 10 before stupid ban.
Yeah, i bought 3 13 rd clips for my Glock 21 a few yrs ago 100.00 a pc!I knew you could still buy them etc, but Glock .45 13 rd clips were almost non-existent.
Hmmm. 39 Rounds for $100. Almost makes me think that it is worth it to spend the $300 on a 100 round Beta Mag. Or possibly would justify it. Every company should be making them now. The problem now is getting the demand out to everyone who demands them. I would think Glock should have still been making hi cap mags under limited production since a lot of police seem to use them now. If so, you might be able to get lucky and locate some marked for law enforcement use only. Usually this involves knowing a good dealer though. Or making it to a show early.
I got the original 17 round for my Glock 17, and a 30 round for it as well. My brother is a collector, he subscribes to a newspaper called SHOTGUN NEWS AND JOURNAL. I am pretty sure that is the name. They have anything you want. You can buy all the parts to completely assemble any semi or fully auto weapon you want. Remember, it is illegal to sell tha gun as a whole, however it is not to sell pieces.

You can't buy the receiver for any full auto weapon without a Class 3 license. Without the reciever the weapon is a disabled wall hanger.
