Tech Folder is a GREAT Idea

Hi Guys,
The tech folder works great. I just went and printed out the info I needed for changing my oil and fuel filters tomorrow. We are leaving friday for sunny and hopefully warm and snowfree florida for 10 days. One small snowstorm over the weekend and im already tired of it, lol. Thanks for coming up with this, all the info was right in one spot. Take care, John

15,000 mile service

Hi all,
I changed my oil and fuel filters today, was my 3 rd oil change, 1st one I`ve done on the 6.0. I followed the instructions I got from the tech folder and everything went very smoothly, thanks for the info.

I had mentioned awhile back in a post about my dealer overfilling the oil at the last change which made me finally decide to start doing my own changes, well I drained my oil and added 14 quarts like was suggested and the level was right in the middle between min and max. Going by that and by how much over the dealers change was, I think it was probably 3 quarts over, it was an inch over the max mark before. The old oil didnt smell like it had diesel in it and the level hadnt changed from when I first realized it was over full. That leads me to believe they over filled it, I think they just add 15 or 16 quarts and dont bother to check it, or as long as its up there they figure its fine. I had romps ocassionally when I first started it up, hopefully they will stop with the correct amount now.

Thanks again for the tech folder, we leave tomorrow afternoon for sunny Florida with a freshly butchered turkey and fresh apple cider and apples, be back the 30th. Wish me luck for over a week staying with the inlaws. Take care, John

Just a thought but, you might want to add Choctaw Bob's fuel tank harpooning instructions.

FYI.... articles in the forums are undergoing transition to the Tech Article section of the site. We've already pulled quite a few out of some other sections. We want to try to have a central location for all articles. That doesn't mean the sticky post won't exist, but instead it will contain links to the articles.
