Hi everybody. I'm looking for a supercharger kit for my 2001 Ranger 4.0L. Can't find anyone who makes a kit for one this new. I'd appreciate any info you have. Thank you.
Jeff - I recall that Truckin magazine ran an article some months back about installing a blower on a 4.0. I'll look through my collection of back issues (about 2 feet tall) and see if I can find it.

Jeff - Two places you might inquire regarding a blower for your 4.0 are BBK Performance Parts - Corona, CA and Magnuson Products - Ventura, CA. Good Luck!

Dono,
Thanks for the info. Since your response I've received a reply from Eaton. They're now completing a kit for my '01 4.0L SOHC which with no other modifications should boost me to approx. 305 hp. But...I'm afraid I can't stop there. Looking for closer to 375 before I'm through without getting radical. (No NOS for me, thanks)
Thanks again and I'll post some performance data and a picture when my personal 'Blown Ranger' is finished.
Jeff
Don't know if this will really help cause I'm not too big on the differences in blower setups, superchargers, so please don't get mad if I'm way off here, but what about going to Vortech's website and seeing what they can do? If I remember right, I think they did have a setup for the 4.0L. Another thing, if you want to boost to 375, why not start messing with internal parts of the engine, whole new exhaust, instake, lighter pulleys, flywheel, ignition stuff, and so forth? It all adds up and probably cost ya the price of one super charger too. Plus really...by the time and money it takes you to build up a 4.0L to 375HP or more like you want...probably be easier and cheaper to go buy a 5.0L new and have it built to your specifications with whatever parts you want in it and on it and bet you'll reach that 375HP in a heart beat. Hope this helps.
I checked several places looking for a Paxton kit & found nothing. If you are really interested, you might want to call Paxton directly to ask if they make a kit.
