I know, I know you all have read about mushy pedals. As I have several times. This one has got me BAFFLED. New Calipers, New Pads, New Wheel Cylinders, New Rear Shoes, New Rear Springs, New M/C, New Brake Booster.
This all was put on at one Single time.
The Rear shoes are adjusted to barely drag.
The M/C was bleed before It was put on.
The system has been bleed several times.
My Brake Pedal Goes to the floor and Does NOT come all the way back up. You can reach down and pull the brake pedal and it will come up and stay up but it will not do so on it's own. Today I hooked up the m/c bleeder kit and un hooked the brake lines. The pedal still does the same thing. I pulled the M/c Off and adjusted the pushrod out 1/4" I did no measurements or anything just adjusted it and hooked the M/c back up. STILL the same problem.
What gives?
I have this problem along with anothe buddy of mine. My M/C is from a 1979 F350 with the 8 3/4" diameter booster?
Have you rebalanced your propotioning valve? I suspect you have. But if you haven't it could be your problem. I haven't had to replace mine yet so I'm not sure how to tell if has gone bad.
It is pretty simple. You grab a pair of needle nose vise grips. The get under your truck's driver side. You will see several brake lines going into a cyliner with a small boot. In the boot there will be a small needle. Pull out the needle (if yours doesn't pull it will push in) then lock it with the needle nose pliers so the heedle doesn't slide back in. At that point start your truck then slowly push your brake pedal. It should be then be reset. You should have the needle pulled when you bleed the brakes. Good luck. I hope it is your problem because it is a easy fix.
