My '05 SCrew XLT should arrive shortly and I wanted to replace the instrument face with something - stainless, white, chrome ringed - whatever. It appears most of the $100+/- stuff is simply an overlay held in place with 3M double-sided tape.
Does anyone make an actual replacement for the existing face? The double-sided tape seems cheesy. If read the posts about replacing the cluster altogether, but it gets pricey - especially if the dealer hassles you with the core charge.
My 05 F-150 KR came with white face gauges, triple chrome ring etc...
I don't think the actual cluster is any different than those used on the Lariat, or FX4 F-150's. I really think that the same cluster is used non all F-150's regardless of trim model. I have not yet taken mine apart (it is less than a week old) but I strongly suspect that it is just an overlay on the cluster with a different bezel than those used on the XL and XLT's.
