Firt problem, first post!!! Threw a pulley and a belt!!!
Well tonight I was on my may from my work to my wife's work to pick her up, when my 2 month old, 2200 miles on it, '04 F150 started to make a rattling noise, it was so loud my wife could hear it inside her office. She came out and said, "that awful noise was not your truck was it". So I started it back up and immediatley a pulley came flying out from undeneath the engine, and I shut it off.
When I looked the belt had flipped itself inside out, so I called roadside assistance and got it towed to the dealership where I bought it. They were very nice and apologetic for my troubles, and at almost 7 at night got me a rental car for free in about ten minutes.
So we will see what they say tommorow, I'm sure it'll be something real simple, and it won't cost me a thing.
lol I had a pulley fall off in a '88 Toyota tercel couple of years ago..it got stuck between two others and made a rattling...had no idea what it was...the next day I was goin down the road and saw something in my rear view rolling down the stree...stopped..picked it up..was a dang pulley :|
Dunno what the deal is yet, for now I am driving the Chrysler Pussssifica they gave me as a loner. I miss my truck already, and it's only been a half of a day.
Well the dealer called today and said they had to order the new pulley, and they are going to put on a new belt, and tensioner, and fan, should be ready tommorow, I hope.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
And I hope I won't have it in the back of my mind that my truck will f****ck up again, I want to be confident that I will make it wherever I want to go.
