Alternator Belts
I just picked up two spare belts; both are GATEs. One is a 5723 and the other is the 9580. Both are 1/2 inch x 58-3/8 or for those in metric land 12.5/13mm x 1485. The 5723 being the preffered was 18.00US and is smooth, the optional was 10.00US and is ribbed. I like the ribbed but am gonna use the 5723 because of an idler that I fabricated from a tip I found on a website.
My question is still out there on actual belt lenght, anyone have a reference to what the lenth is suppose to be???
BTW: Just walked outside to get the belts and saw that I have some cherry juice drops forming on the bottom backside of my transfer case, great. I have not engaged it in over 6 months, why all of a sudden??? Enough to create a wet spot on the ground is what caught my eye.
