I'll tell you my personal experience, but its admittedly biased (which is why I didn't respond initially). I have 2000 Ranger XLT with a 3.0L. I've run both a Diablo and a Superchips in it. I would NOT drive a 3.0L without a chip unless forced to. The Diablo is the better of the two for power, especially at wide open throttle. I have had zero problems with it and it really woke up that little V6! Just make sure you use a good brand of premium.
My personal experience is that it pings slightly with Chevron, does well with BP (actual BP brand, not the Amoco gas at some of them) and is pretty neutral with other brands.
