which is better

I have a 86 f150 with a carter yfa 1 bbl. feedback carb. It just doesnt have the power it should. I have upgraded my cat, muffler and went to a 3" exhaust to get more air flow, hasn't really helped. I have considered switching to a either a regular 2 bbl carb, or a full blown fuel injection system.
Which would be better? Or does anyone have a better idea?

i have a 92 I6 with EFI it works great i got all the power i need and instant throttle response i like the old V8 with carbs instead of EFI but the I6 works great on it good luck
