I put power stearing on my 68 f-150 2*4 i took a Bendix stile gear box. I got my pump and parts from a junk yard and got new hoses from a Kragens. I had to make a costom mounting bracket for the pump but it was easy.I also nead to shorten the stearing collem. If you can weld you can do it your self. Im not shure if a 250 will take the diferent stile of gear box there are two more stiles of gear boxes but if i used them i would half to modify the frame on my 150 250?? might not half to. I did not half to change anything on the axiles.
power steering columns are shorter than the manual. most parts are available from junk yards. i got my set up for 50 bucks. it's pretty straight forward. good luck.
If you can find a pre-78 f-250 with power all of the parts should swap out. You can keep your original column but will have to slide the shorter power shaft into it. This changes the angle of the column coming out of the firewall a little but seems to work ok.
You will also need to replace the drivers side engine tower to one from the truck with power steering (must be the same engine family) if you are using a ford steering box. There is another set of holes already in the frame that will mount the new tower.
It helps to get a truck with the same engine to eliminate running around looking for the engine tower and the pump bracket. The 250 are still pretty easy to find, a lot easier than the 150 where I am at.
