I just got my new Superchips 1705 today. I installed it while I was on lunch break. I have to say I didn't really see that much gain. I put it on my 96 F350 single cab dually. I already have a Tymar intake, 3" downpipe to a 4" cat delete pipe to dual 5" stacks. And guages to watch it. Now given, it's raining and I was spinning the tires alot. But when it did hook, I didn't feel that much of a gain. My boost didn't seem any more than normal. About 22 pounds. I noticed a more black smoke coming out of the stacks, but it's dark, I'm a night shifter. I was expecting to feel a huge difference and see boost in the high 20's or low 30's. Did I do something wrong? I don't know, I guess I need more time to try the other two lower levels and play with it. Right now I'm kinda dissapointed.
P.S. Catman, if you remember from my stacks post......guess who's gonna be P'ed off a me????
Im sure you did evrything right its pretty fool proof. I run the same chip in my 02 and it kicks a$$. Try it again when the roads are not so slick. Thats about what I run for boost on the tow safe(22-25). Hope it works for ya
I've found I like the tow safe setting the best. The performance setting just doesn't feel as good. I have found that using the a little less seems to give more zip. What I mean is I now squeeze the throttle to about 1/3 and come out of the hole like a stripped *** baboon! Gives the SUV's around here a surprise!
I had the same complaint on the Superchip and ended up using the Edge Evolution and WOW! Good powere and milage and not much extra smoke (if I don't shove my foot down to hard)

Hey man - it's all good. I'd like to think I helped start the stack craze around here!!
I'd play around with your tuner a little more when the roads aren't wet, and give the other power levels a try. When I had my SCMT - my truck ran the strongest in the middle setting, so that's where I left it. My buddies truck, also an '02, seemed to really like the first setting. I think that is one trade off with a tuner - they are made very general to work with SO many trucks, that you won't always get what they say you will.
I am getting 14-15 around town and 17-19 on the highway with the Edge tuner. I saw similar milage, maybe a little less, around town with the Superchip and Diablo. I think it has a lot to do with driving style.
Well guys, I've had a chance to play with the tuner for a while now and have a different opinion. I got a couple dry days and tried different settings. I can definatly tell the difference now. I'm much happier.
my 96 gets 17.5mpg all the time. and 12-13mpg towing stock.
2 of my buddies w/ chips get 12-14mpg empty. and a fair amount of smoke all the time on the juice.
I have an 02 F-250 SD 7.3PSD and I figure the actual mileage on each tank and around town it is pretty consistent at about 14.6. On the highway it varies on the speed but if I 70-75 it is around 18 and sometimes as high as 19. These numbers are all empty and there aren't a lot of hill in this part of Texas. The highway number does drop to about 16 with a trailer. The tuner is set on the medium setting as I have standard exhaust.
18vtx00, as for fuel mileage I couldn't tell you. I have been driving like an idiot since I put it on. But the stacks are blow black smoke like a train. I did fill up this morning and I told myself that I was going to drive sane so I could see what kind of fuel mileage I'm getting. If I can keep my foot out of it long enough to get through a tank of fuel, I'll let you know.
