I just replaced the turn signal switch on the side of my steering column and now I dont get any fluid when i compress the end, I have wipers, turn signals, everything else, I checked fuses and relays but Im out of answers, anyone with some advice would be appreciated--Dinty01
Its a new one from Ford, I pulled the old one out and replaced it with this one, didnt change anything else and now this problem, Im wondering if its a bad part?
Maybe the pump motor is bad. Disconnect wires from pump motor and check the voltage there when the lever is pushed. May need two people - one at the voltmeter and one to push the lever - if you do not have long leads on your voltmeter.
I replaced the switch because I was trying to get back my turn signals, flashers, etc and I had replaced everything else but that switch, now I have turnsignals etc but no wiper fluid, Im gonna try to see if I need to replace the pump as well this week, thanks-Dinty01
Dinty, i know im not going to be of much help here but...
I think i remember some years did not ahve the washer switch located in the turn signal stalk. If you perhaps were given the wrong part, or it was boxed wrong, you could have one of the switches that does not have a functional washer switch internal.
Just a thought anyway.
Compare all of the harness and connectors to the old switch. Are any of the connectors missing pins or pins located in a different position. Is the wiring color identical or a few wires missing?
