oil

Hi I was wondering if it would be safe to use a 5-30 wieght oil in my 4.6 2001 f-150, and what is the difference from the 5-20.
Thanks for the imfo.
Also I would like to know if it would be worth while to install headers on the same motor, I currently have the kN air and the three inch exhaust and was told that the headers would make very little if any hp gains.
thanks

yes, use 5w30 motorcraft oil in that engine. 5w20 is to satisfy cafe requirements.

Both 5-30 and 5-20 will work.

Most 5-30 dinos shear down to a 5-20, and MC syn blend 5-20 is a rock solid oil that has cranked out thousands of excellent UOAs.

Check out the Oil and Lubrication Forum on this site, you can find loads of info with a simple search.

As far as headers go, they are most definately a worth the time and effort of putting them on. IMO, any one that says they are not worth it, doesn't know a cresent wrench from a hammer.

Check out my gallery for more pictures and stuff on the headers.
