youre talking about a one-wire, right? I believe you just run a wire to the starter solenoid and make sure it grounds out to the block and GO. I wished i'd done this for myself since i put a new regulator, alternator, and harness in and still have stock output.
You can run it to the battery post or the solenoid . . . same basic difference. I don't remember for sure now what it was but there was some re-wiring I had to do to the harness that runs through the regulator. Otherwise the truck wouldn't start. But it only took me about an hour to dig through the mess of wiring and figure it out . . . was pretty simple.

did you use a 5.0 3G alternator?? did you swap the pulley and did it match up ok?
