This past friday, on the way home from work, I had an interesting encounter.
I was trying to get into the 2nd right lane on the freeway, to merge onto another freeway. It was a tight spot, but would have been a simple lane change....If this 'kiddie lexus" (is300) hadn't been a jerk about it and tried to box me out. He sped up and didn't let me in!
I slowed down quite a bit, and got behind him, at which point he got into the farthest right lane in attempts to get somewhere faster. Unfortunately, the car he got behind was trailing at 65, as I was, right next to him. So he decided to punch it and try to get in front of me again. Bitter, I dropped into 3rd and nailed it! He couldn't even get his nose to pass my door!!
As soon as I got next to the slower car that was holding him back, I remembered that the speed limit was 65, so I slowed down accordingly.
I bet he's thinking twice about his luxury corolla....
Actually there was a good amount of distance where he could have passed me if he had the ability, we were going head to head for over 1/8th of mile. That's over 1/8th of a mile before we got to the slow car at 65.
I wouldn't brag about passing someone who couldn't advance forward, at speeds of 70mph! That's like saying you jumped a corvette off the line, but he didn't even know you were racing him.
haha yea that is true. That is what I thought you were saying though. I was going ttell ya that you shoulda put Ford:1, Lexus:0.5 for the title. haha good job though
Uh, I actually had the opportunity to drive an is300 down to keywest a few months back on a weekend trip. my friends boss let her borrow it, sort of a company car as well.
I got to tell you that when i got in that think and punched it, i was freakin' impressed. And I drive alot of cars and owned many sportscars. That thing was actually fast, not just quick, but fast.
My bet was the kid and/or sucker-in-a-3-piece didn't know how to drive that car or was scared to do so. eh, just my opion on it anyway.
That's what I was thinking...Lexas owns teh 4.2 (even though I hate to admit it) I too have driven a Lexus (don't know what number or whatever) and thing was pretty durned fast.
That's the car alright. I've driven some newer ones, and they are pretty nice, I admit. But when the car originally came out it was only offered with an auto, and im not sure what motor. Anyhow, i smoked that dude.
I did, however, get spanked off the line by a mazda 6 when they first came out....or was it the 3?...is there a such thing as a 3?
And this one time, i totally ate a ferrari up on the freeway.........
Ate a ferrari Huh? It could be possible, in theory, to beat one in a race. The contingency would have to be that only 6 out of 12 cylinders are funtioning, and even then it would be a close race.
