I was just curious if Chapters were allowed to be sponsored by local buisnesses? I did not know if it might be a conflict of interest with FTE as a whole or not.
Check the Fordtoberfest link in the Events Forum. I think they had a bunch of sponsors for their event. As for a regular sponsorship, I think you should email Dennis or Torque1st and they can iron the technicalities out with Ken.
For instance we have a lot of different off-roading companies here in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Lets say they gave us a discount on getting our trucks worked on their in exchange for putting their logos somewhere on our shirts or placing it on like a chapter website.
I think we need to be very careful about how this is handled. Its one thing for a company to sponsor an event, but once they start sponsoring a chapter there is an implication that they are sponsoring FTE, and they aren't. Its especially a concern when they start putting their logo on the same item there is an FTE logo.
If they are willing to sponsor FTE, and offer the members a discount, then they may put their logo on the same item as the chapter, provided it's clear they are a "sponsor".
Thanks! (though maybe I should say "Doh!") Honestly FTE is so big, I don't think there are many of us that have seen everthing!
Would it be "ok" for us to present this information to prospective sponsors?
And would there maybe be some way we could possibly get a % of the gross on sponsors "sold" by our chapter? (I'm not talking about a high % here, but something to help us raise funds for chapter events.)
