6 inch lift
i had taken off a lift kit & axles from a donor truck last year to put on my '81 f250 , here the problem.. i ve installed the leaf springs , but seemily where the leaf sits on the front solid axle i put under there , dont sit properly on the leaf spring seat perches, the axle now is sticking out on driver side... i m thinking maybe the donor truck had a narrower frame ... i know i took em all from a 84 truck which i knew it ll be all bolt up but now this crossed my mind maybe the frame was 79's or under ?? and the body was 84?? what the measurement of a dANA 44 AXLE solid axle?? or do i have to center it up myself and make a bracket for the u bolts? i see the pumpkin on the axle have leaf spring seat factory made but it make my axle stick out on the driver side and wont let passenger side tire turn without touching the leaf springs... is there any way i can fix or someone who s familar with lift and modifying the front axle since my front axle was a i beam independent but i swapped top this solid axle.. so i m hoping maybe someone here went through what i am now .... hope i make some sense here .. thanks all
