electrical problems

my friend has a 97 f150 after we installed an amp, capacitor for his system when ever he slows down his truck knocks off unless he pushes on the gas. anyone had this problem or know what could be causing it?

Does it have diming lights when the bass hits? Does the battery light in the dash come on? Is it hard to start? If it is hard to start, but it starts up if you give it a little gas, then you want to check the idle air control (IAC) valve. If this is not the case, take it to autozone and have the charging system/battery checked. Just some ideas.

ill have to look at it some more tonight and tomorrow. in my van if im stopped at a light my lights dim to the bass hits and my battery gauge reads real low but it never gives me any problems.

i just remembered what usually goes on when it happens. once he slows down for something such as a light the rpms drop and keep on dropping till it knocks off.
