ok i just replaced a in tank fuel pump o what fun, let me just say dont ever run these bronco2;s out of gas. i fryed my pump and the power wire got so hot it melted. but now my truck idles at 1700to1800 tb is clean fuel pressure is 47 is that good i think it is ??? but what else could i chex? could a bad thermostat do it ? 88bii 4x4 the ticking 2.9 lol thanks your neighborhood redneck

 

I would start by checking that the throttle plate is closing all the way and you don't have any vacuum leaks. Then disconnect the IAC, the engine rpm should drop or stall.
