Just had some new work done on the exhaust ( replaced header gaskets and exhaust gaskets ), and it really is nice and quiet unlike the unmuffled sound I had last week.
The truck would occasionally backfire, especially when I was in 3rd, gave it gas and suddenly let off the pedal before replacing the gaskets.
Now with the work done, I get a muffled backfire sound just below the stick shift, mainly from 2nd gear on up. I don't hear it coming out the tailpipes... just a backfire in a can sound, not even loud enough to make anyone look.
Any ideas why it is doing this and how to get rid of it?
