Has anyone replaced the factory units with the Dynatrack retrofit kit? ( That kit uses a new hub and tapered roller bearings.) If so, how did that work out for you and what did it cost?
I have the Dynatrac Super Duty Combo on my truck (works with 6-12" lifts) and I like it. I really like being able to repack my wheel bearings now, the increased ground clearance, and the improved steering.
They have a new kit that works on stock trucks or any truck that has a stock knuckle or variation of the stock knuckle. I don't believe it's on their website yet. It's basically the SD combo minus all the steering related parts. So, it's the 35 spline outers, Warn premiums, new wheel hubs, inner and outer bearings, seals, heavy duty fixed spindles, spanner nuts, etc.. Most of the customers I've had interested in it so far are guys who are lifted and already have ORU's or DR's crossover steering.
Hub/bearing assy. from dealer "lists" for about $640,aftermarket about $450.Depending on what kind of discount you get will decide what it will cost you so check around.I've been paying $245 for federal-mogul.
I haven't had one go out yet, but... If you don't mind me asking, where do you get them for $245?
My local parts supplier. They're one of the "old" time parts store, not a national franchise.Like I said, it depends on what kind of discount you get,as to what you might pay.Another supplier I use gave me price of like $330-350.By the way I might be wrong on brand, they might be NATIONAL, not FEDERAL.
With the Dynatrac am I correct in understanding that the conversion is to replace components so the knuckle is more like the previous designs? 88-94 Do you add a spindle to your old knuckle, then bearings and hub or do you change out the whole knuckle assembley. Thanx

With the new kit for stock trucks they made a heavy duty fixed spindle that will bolt up to the stock knuckles, comes with a new wheel hub, inner and outer bearings, seals, spanner nuts, 35 spline outer shafts, and Warn Premium locking hubs.
The kit for SDs with 6-12" of lift has new knuckles to run crossover steering and raise the tie rod up for increased ground clearance, comes with a new wheel hub, inner and outer bearings, seals, spanner nuts, 35 spline outer shafts, Warn Premium locking hubs, new drag link, new heavy duty adjustable trac bar with upper and lower mounts, tie rod, and dual stabalizer setup.
