I was surfing and just noticed that www.thetoolwarehouse.com is running a sale on S-K tools (posting this Nov 24, 2004). The prices look amazing. About the same as some Craftsman sets... My c-card is burning my hand right now...

Try http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/

Seems as though it's the same outfit; it's weird they don't redirect.

I order from these people all the time. They're great. Good prices (not always the cheapest, but always at least close to the cheapest -- Amazon is occasionally cheaper), fast delivery times. Items usually arrive in a couple of days and I've never paid shipping or tax. Their selection could be better, but it's still pretty good.

Yeah... I noticed that... but they look like a good place for automotive tools in general.

I have a few S-K's. I like them, no problems at all with them. They seem to be quite good. I'm also checking out those links above, and my credit card is not far away... this could be a very good holiday season indeed.... .

sk in Canada

Does anyone know if SK tools are still sold in Canada. I have some warranty and can't seem to find a dealer in the Edmonton area.

I'm pretty sure they're still sold in Canada. The SK guy was coming around to the dry land sort shop last year. I've got the SK 3/8 & 1/2" flex ratchets and not a single complaint. According to a Heavy Duty mechanic buddy of mine, he's broken his Snap-on 1/2" ratchet so often that he just uses the SK when he's going to abuse it. It just doesn't seem to break.

Only problem I have had with SK tools is when you break one. Sometimes can be hard to find someone who will replace the tools without a receipt showing you brought from that location. Never had any problem replacing a craftman tool. Just go to Sears and throw on the counter and ask for a new one. Now that Sears brought out by Kmart the future of Craftman is uncertain. Will never buy any more tools from Snap-On. Last time I tried to get a broken Snap-On tool replaced, the dealer acted like he wanted to look at the tool under a microscope to make sure I used it properly. Don't need to pay 3 times the price for a tool and be treated like that.

I was watching a hot rod show on the discovery channel...the guy heated a 1 inch craftsman wrench, and bent it, to get a nut tightened that he missed. Then he took it back to sears, said he bent it while turning the nut and they replaced it for free... I don't think SK,Snapon, Mac, etc, would do that!

Hey Ron, the store shouldent care if you bought it from them or not, the SK rep will give them full jobber price for every broken SK tool they have in they're return box, as long as the tool wasent abused. It doesnt matter where its bought.

That should be the way it works, but some dealers who sell SK tools will refuse to replace what they didn't sell. There's always the - You should have brought it here if you want me to replace.

My SK 3/8" flex head ratchet is a dandy but a bit floppy for some work and somehow, my other 3/8" ratchets have walked away so out it went to get one. As I had a credit at Canadian Tire I checked there, $32 to $44 for a 3/8" ratchet, thought I'd check the pawn shop and got a well used but in good shape Mastercraft (Canadian Tire) 3/8" for $4. God is great (and he likes Ford Trucks and the people that like them).
