Do I Need This?????
HI, I have a 1985 F350/351W in which I'm swapping out a T- 18 for a ZF s542. Every thing is going well so far....except... o.k. here's my delima .....The ZF is 3" longer than my T18 , so I had to move the tranny mount back 3" and blow bolt holes into the frame with a torch. Now that that's done, the only thing left is to put in the two diagonal bolt-in braces...which seems like way to much effort to install since trying to drill upside down at an angle in to the chassis is not going to work (not to mention rediculous), and using a torch is bad because... as if burning from up side down isn't bad enough ,the area of which the holes are to go is where the chassis frame overlaps giving me two plate thickness to cut through simutaneously(what a mess)..... so here's my question... Can I get away with omitting the two diagonal bolt-in braces?.........TCD
