Looking for Parts
I purchased a very abused 88 BII from my boss for $200 about 8 months ago. It runs fine but needed a lot of interior cleaning and repair. The exterior was pretty bad but not realy damaged. I've sanded and primed the whole thing and will need to do that again as some of the roof rust is comimg back.
What I need assistance inis find some missing blue interior parts that I can't find at local junkyards.
1. I need the cover that goes over the fuses and below the steering colum.
2. would love to find the roll up cover for the cargo comartment.
2. Really am inerest in replacing the back hatch with one that the window opens seperately.
If anyone knows where I can find these things, please let me know.
I will be adding a lift kit but I'm still not sure if I should do a body or a suspension lift. Advice is welcome.
Thanks for such a great forum.
For the fuse box cover, I think you can get one from LMCtruck.com, they have a few things like that, but it is new, I'm not sure if you can find one at a salvage yard or not. I don't have the one for mine, and it came like that when I got it. As far as the roll-up cargo cover, good luck finding one. They are pretty hard to find, especially in good shape, they just didn't last very long. And for the back window part, I've seen a few B2's with that, but not very many, I was interesting in that also, but I couldn't find anybody with information on that. Was it a feature that could be added, or a kit? Ken might know.
As far as the lift question goes, go with suspension lift all the way. Body lift gain you a little clearance, and they are cheap, but when it comes to putting it on.. it's a pain in the neck. I think the suspension lift looks better, too.. no lowered bumpers, and whatnot, also you dont have to move the radiator. If you are thinking about swapping in a new engine, like a 302 swap, which is pretty common, you would need at least a 2" body lift, and a 3" would give you room to work from what I've heard. Good luck with your new toy, you'll never run out of things to do.
Thanks again
BTW I can't find a NJ chapter listed on the chapter list.
