Question Windshield question

The prevoius owner must have parked near a pine tree and the windows are coated with sap.I dont want to scratch the glass...any suggestions? This thing is tough to drive after dark.Sorry to be such a pest here.
I did get the radiator installed and new hoses and vacuum lines all around.Power washed the body and blew off lots of dead paint.Pretty sure I'll be replacing all of the door/window seals.I love this truck!!Thanx for the help.

I use Bonamey( not sure of the spelling) gold can in the area as Comit, it's a nonabrasive powter. Use a lot of water and little of the powter, good for bugs, water marks and tree sap.

Try WD-40. I just read a thread earlier today where someone asked for strange uses for WD-40. Removing tree sap was one of them.

How'd you ever think to use Bon Ami? I'd never thought of it, but I don't know why it wouldn't work. "Hasn't scratched yet."

My favorite around-the-house solvent is Goof Off. Every hardware and home supply center carries this brand and I use it for everything from latex paint removal to road tar removal. I would use a razor blade to get the majority of the sap off and then get out the Goof Off!

Sometimes the Goop-type hand cleaner works well for cleaning things other than grease.

Carb cleaner would work, BUT it would also remove the paint fron the body everywhere you got overspray on. I would recommend wd40.

I use a cleaner called "Awsome" for a lot of that type of stuff. It can usually be found at dollar stores. Certainly worth a try. Also, to make the windshield easier to clean in the future, wax it. Too bad the previous owner didn't do that, eh?
