The other day I was sitting at home watching a little bit of TV when I saw a spider crawling up the TV. No problem. Got a paper towel and proceded to the TV to get the little SOB. Went to grab it but it crawled further up the TV. It was climbing around inside the TV. (Rear projection)
Now here is my question. Does anyone know of anything one can do to keep the litter buggers out of there? Don't know if I want to spray anything in there because I don't want to cause a haze or possibly screw something up. This is driving me crazy.
Thanks for all of your guidance.
Mike
Spiders don't like hedge apples (the "fruit" of osage orange trees). Put a few in your basement/crawlspace or other dark areas, and that should keep the spiders out for the most part.

Would the hedge apples attract other types of bugs? Why not bug bomb the house?
We have so many spiders that my wife screams on a regular basis....just to keep in shape. I've thought of those sound wave things but hate spending money on something that I don't know works. Anyone ever tried them? I hate the thought of fumigating...my wife would be afraid of coming into the house for months after...and would know that the dogs would lick something and die. And, don't even think about what would happen to the cats. SO...anything with fumes is out.
In any case...Home Depot has them sound wave thingies...so someone tell me if you've tried them and do they do anything except draw a bit of power.
I had a spider incident today! I was driving to work and I saw a reflection of a spider in the side window. I thought it was in between the outside of the window and the rain guard, but then I looked again and the spider was right there on the dash. It was comming out of that little vent that directs air toward the mirror. I leave my windows cracked open at night, so I guess thats how it got in. It was pretty big, about the size of a quarter, and black with white stripes (wolf spider?) Anyway, it made my trip to work kinda uncomfortable. When I got to work, I open the door and it was in the door jamb, so I swatted it out of the truck. I think I'll keep my windows closed now.....
I'm also curious about those ultra-sonic bug gizzmos.
I'd like to know if any body has used them and if they really work. There was a commercial on tv a while back about one that was supposed to travel through the house wiring and chase the bugs out, but when I did a BBB search on the company which was supposed to be out of Florida it came up with nothing at all about it. I also did the same search for the whole country and still nothing.
You would think that a legitimate company would have some kind of listing.

We have used those and yes they do work. But they only last for like 5 years or so and ours are past that. Haven't gotten any new ones yet. For those that don't want fuming, get a spray that you spray on the outside of your house along the foundation etc. We used this this spring and it has worked well.

man, what a great product! you wont know for about a month whether or not it works! i wonder if you can see all the little critters running out of the house when you plug it in? how do you know it works? do you hold a bug up to it and see if he likes it or not?

Yes... you grab a cockroach, take it over to the little noisey thang, hold him tightly and see if he plugs his little ears, screams madly and then goes totally schizophrenic.
Won't all the screaming bugs keep you up at night..........then there's the whole cruel and unusuall punishment laws to worry about!! Plus, you'll PO your neighbors when all your roaches go live at their house!
here's the most fun way to get rid of roaches. (note that i said most fun; not most effective.)
roaches love beer for some reason. so before you go to bed at night; soak a rag in beer and put it in the middle of your kitchen floor. turn out the lights and wait a few hours. then put on some good smashin' shoes, turn on the light, and stomp the little buggers while their drunk!
