Question TFI Ignition Help

Im new to this site and ive been looking around for the info I need but I havent quite found it, so I decided just to sign up and ask. I have a 87 BII and I hate the stock ignition system. Is their an after market system that will get rid of the TFI module? I found out the expensive way that MSD just plugs into the back of it (this is after a MSD rep told me it would replace it). Also, I live in the desert and do some offroading, but nothing really gnarly. I would like to give my BII a little bit of a lift and some bigger tires but nothing real huge. What would you all recomed is the best type of lift, body lift or suspension?

im not sure if MSD makes anything for our trucks, but for what you want for offroading i would say a 2 or 3 inch body lift, with 33's.. sounds like plenty for the amoutn of offroading you are doing..
