Track results!
Fastest time of the night: 12.6 at 118mph, sorry to tease. That was, of course, the bike. that's a lot of fun. Even for a novice rider like me.
The camaro had a rough night. Never getting into the 13s, where it's been before. The new tires look good but don't seem to stick well (street tires). I also tried a 1-2-1 shift, I thought I was gonna see the tranny in the track...ouch. But, it seems to have no lingering issues.Just no traction at the launch.
And the Truck. It ran about the same as the last trip. It's still laying down on the back half of the track. We had another 14.6 tonight. We have not fixed the problem, but we have narrowed it down. We ruled out carb setting and ignition issues. We think it's simply a fuel supply issue. With my plumbing/pump, that should not be an issue. I'm going to reroute the section coming out of the tank. Now, it has to climb before it falls to the pump. That's our lead suspect at this point. We did try higher fuel pressure, and that seemed to help a little. next suspects, pump and regulator.
overall a good night.
Big thanks to Strokster and my buddy Glenn for helping get everything there and back!
No problems running year round down here!
I can imagine your heart skipped with the SS issues...--Mike
Yeah, I was a bit worried about the SS. But it seems fine. Tough car.
Shiner and Snow.....not 2 words I usually hear in the same sentence..???? How do you know Shiner?
Gregs truck is a monster. You can't appreciate it until you see and hear it in person.
That 14.60 @ 95 was with me and Greg in it, 4650 lbs, short shifting 1st and 2nd and running outta fuel at about 1000ft. The truck pulls like a freight train and really puts you in the seat above 5k. And it sounds so SWEET!!!!!
Just to put it perspective, there were SEVERAL late model Mustangs and Camaros that Greg woulda spanked heads up.
Have fun in Cabo. In your magarita induced haze, dream up a new plumbing scheme and lets go get that 13 second time slip!!!

You may have already told me, I just dont remember.

I changed the filter. Didn't seem to be the problem.
1-d-1... I know the aod crowd likes that, but, never heard of the f-bod guys attempting it.
glad it held up... tough cars.
what kind of meats are out back on it?
118mph is haulin' butt!

camaro, Sumitomo HTR-Z 315-35r17s out back....big but not sticky.
I think the 1/8 mile for the truck was about 80mph.
The power is there!
Being a MAJOR stick shift kinda guy....I have to kinda chuckle when I hear about a miss-shift with an automatic
. Glad it did not screw anything up. But with the advanced electronic controls today I bet it wouldn't downshift into first again anyway. One question: Aren't those trannies fly by wire anyway?? Or do they still have a cable?
118 mph is mid/low 11's. My wagon goes 11.37 @120. It should go 11.2's at 120 mph. There again it's making power, but it's getting it down the first 60 ft is the problem.

A little confusion here:
the missed shift was in the Camaro: it's a 6 speed. definitely not fly by wire..and obviously not anything built in to keep it from happening.
the 118mph pass was on the bike, getting the launch down on that requires practice and more cajones :-)
