Smokin when accelerating

Smokin when accelerating
Hi all,
I have a 99 7.3L PSD CCLB . Bought a few months ago with 83K, I've noticed when I accelerate I leave a puff of black smoke to mark my passage. Is this normal or atleast expected? If not what can I do to reduce or eliminate it?

p.s. I tried to search but got a lot of results about your teenagers smoking !!?!!

I also have the same model and make truck and mine will smoke like a MO FO when I get on it. Keeps the bugs off the back bumper. I run a superchips on the middle setting so it smokes pretty good. I like to get someone on my bumper and I just smoke em out...
