Talking Contemplating new tires

Gents,
Have an '05 F-250 SD CC lariat LWB motor......obvious! was out measuring wheel wells/ back spacing etc sunday. Came to the conclusion 33x12.50 R17's would be no problem at all. I really would like to go to 35x12.50 R17's though. Dilema is I don't want to put a lift on yet. I think the 35's will fit. Any experience or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

They will rub and will crown if you mount them on stock wheels, and the 35s will rub on the front and the back.

Talking Found a fit for tires

Called around today, no one around here....northern VA had any 35x12.50's in stock. Remeasured and concluded that BFG All Terrain Radial T/A >>LT 315/70 R17's would fit. The guy at the tire shop said "no way".. I ley him know the math doesn't lie. I convinced him to put one on the front. Had my dad turn it stop to stop with vehicle weight on it................totally clear, by 1"-1 1/2" both ways. Then I turned it from stop to stop while my dad looked, just to get a 2nd opinion. There were 25 guys that worked in the shop watching with awe. I had them put all 4 on. Looks awesome....handles great. Had to tell the guy " well look at the bright side.....next time you'll know they DO FIT if someone asks you"

Yeah they fit on road but when u go off road and the truck starts going up and down and the one side goes in a hole thats when they will start tearing things off the truck.. I have a 5.5 fabtech lift and when i go off road the tires just barely miss the front bumper.. The factory wheels arent offset for 315s they will rub the springs when u turn and go over a bump or somenthing..

Are you planning on doing a lot of off roading?

No guys, not planning on doing a lot of off roading??? Mostly getting to areas hunting, or getting to firewood. No hard core stuff like I did with my 1976 Chevy K-10. At least not yet. Till it's close to being paid for. Mostly hauling/ towing and beach stuff at the outer banks.

I put 295's on my '04 Superduty. They rubbed the plastic inner fender slightly when full lock to the left. I corrected the problem by using a cable to pull the inner fender away from the tire. To the right I have no trouble. Truck is stock height. After talking to a tire shop 315's will not fit without a lift, but 295's will. I do not do heavy offrroading but, they only problem I could see if you did would be turning and hitting deep hole or ruts.

The truck is a '04 4X4 Supercab short box Lariat. It does NOT have the FX4 package. Just adding that the obvious, based on section header, the truck is a 6.0 diesel.
