From your personal experience what is the best replacement speaker for our trucks. Polk, Alpine, Infinity, Rockford. Also is there a easy way to replace the rear sreakers on a Scab??
Go with a component set up front. Seperate mid and tweet. You'll have to use 5 1/4". and an adapter plate to go from a 5x7 opening to a 5 1/4. I have the Focal Access 130a and they rock pretty hard. have good amp too. In the rear just go with some regular 5x7 or 5 1/4s with the adapter plate. If you order the speakers from Crutchfield, they send you the speaker adapter plug free. This is so you don't have to cut the factory plug off. Good luck!
I put Boston accoustics that I took out of my 02 with a set of kicker tweeters in the fronts(hole is there already) run off the stock head unit with an Alpine amp under the rear seat. I think it sounds awesome.

You don't have to cut the plugs off. Use a T tap and you're all set. A box of T taps is about $2.00
my son has infinity kappa reference series in his 04 and they sound great.
he originally bought the speakers for his new 2003 f150 but we moved them over to the 04 when an aho ran a red light and totalled his 03. Anyway, there may be newer series speaker out by now but i would recommend the infinity brand.

I just bought a few things from Audiobahn... (yeah I know)... since my buddy works for them... He got me below cost deals on a bunch of stereo components.. so we'll see how it works out.. he said I can return the stuff, if I don't like it... I got AS68Q 5x7 speakers for all for doors, which have tweeters which can be mounted remotely... I also bought a A6000T 4 channel amp.. 75X4 RMS... We'll see how this sounds together.. after that I'll get a 10" sub, and 2 channel amp from him to power it...
Speaking of speakers, Anybody removed the panel off their half door on a regular cab? I pulled the one screw at the bottom, but the panel didn't lift up. Another screw? Or what.
I want to upgrade all four speakers, but don't want to damage that little panel.
Thanks, anyone?
Chris
onlinecarstereo.com has the alpine 6x8 component set. I have a pair and it is great sounding. The tweeter takes a little fabrication to install but is totally worth it. Best speakers I've had in a vehicle.
I went with Infinity on my 02 Lariat SCAB. Very happy with the sound, but.... the cab, door shape, and speaker mounts are different on the 04/05 which may affect the overall sound quality of the speakers. I would do some checking around first. Listen to some others that have been installed in 04/05 F-150 SCABs to be sure you will be getting the right combination BEFORE you buy.
I installed the Alpine components (seperate tweeter) in the front and kept the facotry in the back. The installer said the back is just filler noise and to save my $$. I could not be happier.
