Is it possible and how hard would it be to install an overhead console with the trip computer in and XLT?
Are the correct wire harnesses there so i can just cut the head liner and plug everything in?
If I pick up a used one what years would be compatable with my 2004?
I would like to use the lie-o-meter to find what RPM gives me max instantanious MPG, but mostly I miss the temp gauge and compass that I had in my 2003 gasser.
Umm, they removed the instantaneous MPG function a few years ago. Now all you have is average. You can reset the unit to get a sort of instant reading till it starts averaging again, but it is definately not as good as my 97 Expedition that had the real instant as well as average setting.
Yes it can be done . I put one in my 2004 xlt. Get the overhead, the outside temp probe and short harness. You will also need the overhead harness that plugs in the right hand side kick panel. There are 2. One with the cleaerence lights and one with none. Its pretty much plug and play. The hardest part is cutting out headliner. If you have any questions
