Pitman arm

Anybody have any trick for getting these things off? I have broken 2 pullers trying to get it off the gear box.

Are you using a pitnam puller or just a jaw type puller. A standard puller may not be strong enough to work.

broke the pitman arm puller first, then killed a 6" gear puller

heat with a torch, gently tap the bottom of the pitman with a rubber hammer, heat a little more, tap the top of the pitman, repeat. Do not cook anything! You just want to break any rust free.

Then reapply a non-broken puller
