Yet another Knocking question
I have just purchased my first Power Stroke, 99 F250, bought at auction so I don't know a thing about history, 150,000 miles. Truck runs great, but has a loud knock if you rev engine and let off. Sounds to me like rocker arms or lifters on low oil 460 ( I have had several of those) Truck is in shop now, I didn't want to take a chance. They tell me they are stumped as to where knock is coming from. I have been reading all the threads about "cackle" I am not sure if this is the same, sounds like mine does it under a different condition. I haven't mentioned "cackle" to the shop, I will today, not sure if they have ever heard of it. Thanks for any help.
