I bought a used 94 Ford Explorer and wanted to install my aftermarket cd player in it. When I went to put it in I see that previous owners or someone cut the wire harnesses off, so i am going to have to splice into the wires. I was wondering if anyone had a wiring schematic for this vehichle. I know there is a large gray cable on the left with several smaller wires in it, and one that has no covering other than the gray cable. Then there is a group of wires to the right. I have been told this is the premium sound package, so the regular wiring schematic doesn't apply.
If it has more than two connectors, then its premium and good luck figuring them out. I have some old service manuals, I'll dig through and see if it has anything.
Boy, that is not going to be a fun thing to do... I don't know of a schematic. I had to install a stereo in an explorer in the same situation years ago... To get all the speakers in phase I think it took me 2 hours.... you might be better off just running new speaker wires to each speaker... If I remembered each color of wire I would tell you, but I don't.... sorry...
