The shift motor is stalled for some reason. Probably due to misalignment. The electronic B/W T-cases are notoroius for it across the entire Ford line of trucks. Check this link for a detailed explanation of the shift motor and the problems that are encountered with it along with some solution procedures.

The T-case discussed is a B/W 1354 which is a smaller derivative of the 1356 in your Bronco. Essentially they operate the same way.
