7.3L with transmission problem
I have a 2001 Super Duty 7.3L with 54000 miles on it and i just came to find out that the one way clutch for the second gear snapped. I went to the Ford dealership and they said it would cost $3000-3600!!. I took it at my local garage and it cost me $1350. Its terrible because ive never towed anything with this truck, its been pampered like a car and this happened so soon. The mechanic told me that this problem was common with the older transmissions and was fixed later. I was hoping that Ford could give me a refund or a voucher for the cost because its their fault the truck had problems. I was wondering if there is any info you could give me concerning the transmission problems with these trucks or experience with these problems. Also, if you guys could give me any advice on how to deal with Ford id really appreciate it.

1350.00 isn't bad I had the same problem grenaded 2nd but I was pullin my toyhauler. I had mine rebuilt and really built for the power and torque needed mine was 2720.13 out the door with billet tc,valve body and extra clutches now it's ready for the sand dune season
