Just bought a 94 F250, 4X4 with 351 motor. Need some ideas for removing a broken sparkplug. The porcellyn is blown out and most of the plug body is gone. Looks like a job for an EZ-out or removing the head and taking it to a machine shop.
The other plugs are frozen in the heads. afraid to try to remove them.
The truck has 107,000 miles on it (probably the original plugs).
if it were me i would just go out and buy a can of pb blaster and once a day for a couple of days just spray the plugs with it. probly would try a torch and heating them up before i sprayed them. i hope this helps.
chrono
They were soaked for 2 days before and we did heat with a torch. Thats how we got the first 3 out. Ive never seen plugs so rusted in before. The last one is broken off flush so you cant get a socket on it though. I don't know how to get it out. We didnt want to attempt melting it out as we did the bolt for the manifold because it was on the cylinder.
Wow, talk about back from the dead. Well if it's broken off flush, you could try drilling out the porcelian part, and using an easy out. But if you do do it this way, you can't go all the way through, or you'll get a bunch of junk into the cylinder.
I made another post, and accidently reposted on this one, i guess bringing it back from the dead. Thanks for the help though. This truck has been a nightmare and it all seemed to start out as a good deal. Well hopefully we'll get the plug out with out getting stuff into the cyl.
