New user needs help

I have recently purchased a 1988 E350 with a 7.5 L motor that won't start. I get fuel to the injectors, but it won't run Any ideas?

Do you have spark? Does it try to start?

Yes, it does spark. Put in a new coil and new plugs. Starter is good. Will crank for a long time, but never fires. If I shoot starter fluid in the system, it runs until the fluid burns off.

ok. that sounds like you are not getting fuel........ I'd pull the iginition control module and have it tested. It sounds like the injectors aren't pulsing.

Along that same line, make sure you have pressure in the fuel rail. and check and see if you can hear the injectors "click" if you use a mechanics stethoscope on them.

Does sound like a fuel problem...

Pressure test on the fuel rail?

Check that the injectors are getting a firing pulse.

The injectors are not pulsing. There are 2 new fuel pumps in the system, and it has great pressure. you can hear the fuel running through the fuel rails. I am in the process of replacing the distibutor. Can anyone tell me where the EEC computer is located?

If its the same as my 89, its right up where the passenger's feet are. You take off the connector from the engine compartment.
