Hey guys, I am planning on upgrading my radiator. I have no experiance doing this so I have been asking around. I have heard good and bad things about aluminium radiators, peopel say they get damaged real easily. I have also heard a little about brass radiators. have any of you done this or know some good brands/pt #'s/tips for doing this? I have a '96 Bronco if you were wondering about fitments.
How much do you want to spend? The aluminum radiators are nice, light and pricey. If you just want to upgrade your cooling capacity, get a new replacement radiator with an additional row or two of coolers (not knowing how many your current radiator has).
Cost isn't important. The reason that I want to do the swap is mainly for weight. I am going to turn my bronc into a badass street machine and I'll need to drop all the weight I can. I plan on stroking this thing, suspension mods, the works. I am just trying to get it all figured out before I start.
i just bought an aluminum dual 1 inch core all aluminum radiator for my stang for just 180. it is a universal and has no tranny cooler on it. if you use the correct coolant in it, it will last a long time. and yes it is so purty and light.
