Angry rough on cold mornings

I have a 95 302 xlt. A couple of weeks ago i accidently left my lights on and after i jumped it, it hasn't run right. Since then it has been on a scanner 3 times and only a couple of things have come up. one was the iac so i replaced that and second the o2 sensor wasn't going from cold to hot loop ,so I have replaced that. KNow nothing comes up. It has been colder in the morn. and she is having trouble running until she warms up. the past couple of days I have also replaced the ign con module, the air cleaner temp sensor and ect. I have also replaced the wires. The whole problem since the day I had to jump it has been idle. prior to that I had no problems. I have been through every vacuum line and they are all fine, I have sprayed every elec.connection ,gasket and fitting trying to find something wrong. is there anything or part that I am missing that woud cause the poor idle and hard starting in the morning. I also have the idle set higher on the t.b. screw and in gear she is idling at about 750-800 and in park it is at about 1100 1150. I know that is high but if I set it any lower she barely will stay running. I have also checked the t.b. for being dirty and she stil is spotless, I just put that on in july and the tps is also set right. Any help woud be greatly appreciated!!

First off, put the idle stop screw back where it belongs. Forcing it to hold the throttle pates open confuses the rest of the sensors because everything is shifted from what the normal parameters are. With the IAC disconnected and the engine at normal operating temp, the idle stop screw should be backed out until the engine just begins to die. Before restarting the truck completely disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes. Reconnect and go for a drive for about 15-30 minutes. Running at everything from stop and go to WOT on the highway. This should clear any oddities, give the PCM a chance to relearn the engine, and put all of the parameters back so the sensors can get acurate readings which in turn allows the PCM to control idle functions normally. If there is still a problem after all this, might try cleaning the EGR valve. If there is crud built up on it but its not affecting the valve movement, it may not trigger any codes.

As an afterthought, when the IAC was replaced, was it tested as bad or was it replaced because the code triggered. I only aske because if the IAC was repalced and its the electrical connector or wiring, the new one may have the same problem.

greystreak, how do you clean the egr? i've never done that before so an answer woud be helpful. The connectors were never tested because when the code came up the koer said that "idle was to high cannot adjust idle"during the scanner run test.

The "idle too high" would trigger if the idle stop screw was run in at the time of the test.

The EGR can be cleaned with throttle body cleaner just like the IAC and the throttle body. Its often easier to remove the valve body from the side of the intake and unscrew the metal tubing running up to the bottom so that you can actually hold it and up end it and see down inside. Make certian to cover or remove the EVP sensor before spraying the valve. You will need to replace the EGR-to-intake gasket because they usually disintegrate when you remove the valve from the intake and its just a good idea to replace it. While you have the valve off the intake check for carbon and crud build-up around the port for the valve in the intake too.
