exactly which gauges do i NEED for my truck, 99 f250 psd 6spd
i know i need the boost and egt, do i need the tranny temp gauge, or is that just recomended with the auto tranny?? thanks
The transmission temp gauges are for auto's - I don't think there is any need for one with a manual. So you should be all set to go with your boost and pyrometer gauges.
I am thinking of getting a FOUR gauge pillar pod. Since I have a manual, I am thinking of upgrading the stock engine temp and oil pressure gauges in addition to EGT and boost pressure. I could add a 3 gauge pod elsewhere for ammeter, on-board air pressure and air filter restiction gauges. I've read that the stock gauges are pretty much glorified idiot lights.

Does this make sense or is it overkill? Opinions?
You can never have too many gauges! I got the three regular now, (pyro, tranny temp and boost), and want to get a couple more for engine temp and oil pressure.
