It's been 16 days since Ford received my letter (sent certified and yes, they did sign for it) stating the VA lemon law and...NO RESPONSE! Imagine that. I have an appointment with my lawyer on the 9th.
I was looking for this information on the 6.0. Mine is in the shop right now for the same reasons. This is the second time for the same reason. First trip they re-programmed the PCM (power control module). The only diference this time is that they can not even get my truck to talk to thier computer so they ordered a new PCM. That has been on order for a week now. I will let my dealer know about the ICP. He is aware of the EGR and EBP. Thanks for the help. Love the truck but do not want to run granny over in the Wal-Mart parking lot when the truck accelerates on it's own.

Dex, welcome to FTE. Keep working on the relationship with the dealer. Make sure you meet the service manager and clearly, professionally state your concerns and what you want done. I would also make sure there is a certified and experienced diesel tech working on your truck. Don't be afraid to ask to see the diesel tech's certifications. ONLY a certified diesel tech should be working on the truck's powertrain controls.

2004 F350 16,000 miles
Dex,
Have you performed any modifications to your truck?
No engine, transmission or exhaust modifactions have been done to the truck. There is a 2.5 in. leveling kit with 35 in. BFG,s under the truck. The first ocurance of the trouble happened at about 15,000 miles. That was two months ago and now they have had it for a week now. As of 3pm EST they still do not have the part and do not know where it is. I advised the service maager of the ICP and he seemed to take it with a grain of salt. I am being patient for now but it is starting to get into my pocket since I can not tow with my aurus rental.
I guess i will put my two cents in on this subject. I am going through alot of BS with FORD about an early 03 I bought with the newest thing out 6.0 HAHA. I have had the truck since March of 03 and it has been in the shop 41 days so far and going back when they get the EGR tube in which is on back order. For the people who are like me and are having problems you need to keep your cool as much as you can. I have talked to the Dealer the Area Rep. the DSB board and I am now employing an attorney to get this settled once and for all. I have had no help from any of FORDS people so I am faced with drastic measures. The gentleman I have hired told me that the states lemon law does not apply to me anymore since I have 70000 miles on my truck BUT................The Deceptive Trade Practices Act will get some results. This is the first time I have felt real good after talking to someone about this. He also told me about possibly adding on lost wages because I use my truck to work out of . So Everyone THERE IS HOPE Good luck to all you FORD Fanatics.
I just got my truck back today for the surging. I requested that the ICP and ERG valves be replaced but they were not! They replaced the PCM due to lack of communcation with thier computer. Three hours after I received my truck the surging returned. It will be be back at the dealer with several of these posts outlining the problems and solutions for them. I bet he will replace the sensors this time! This will be the third time for the same reason so they are working toward the lemon law. I hope that it does not come down to that because I love my truck. But I do not want to run over the christmas shoppers either!!!!!!
Get a meeting with the service manager. Politely and friendly but firmly state your problem and your "safety" concern. Document your conversation. If you get the service manager on your side, you can make all sort of things happen.
