I was just wondering why you want to stroke a 600? Are you dirt dragging and looking to get a large spot off the line? If so that is an idea if it works!!

Not dirt dragging just exploring options for increased performance. Mainly speed. I am thinking of a 351 stroker or a 460 but i wanted to look at what was available for the 300 6.

I assume when you say 351 you are talking Windsor, witch is a nice engine but the stock heads will really limit you on total performance. The 429/460 stock heads have good potential for the street. But you would have to change transmissions due to different bellhousings.

Heck, even if Rstrause isn't interested I would be. If you can find out the cubic inches, which rods and pistons he used, and who reworked the crank and how much, that would be great. If the work was done in KY then lemme know who did it, if you don't mind.

I believe the one I called about, made it a 340 with the right overbore. later

I talked to my friend and he said that he has not seen this guy for a long time but he would try to contact him to find out the information.

I did not ask where this guy lives but my friend lives outside of Princeton Ky.
I will post what I find out, when I find out.

I have heard alot about the 351 stroker I think Blueprint motors builds on and it is supposed to be stout. The more i think about which way to go the farther away from a decision i get. I need some pro's and cons.

I didn't think you could stroke a 300, something about not havin any more room in the crankcase.

Theres enough room to make a few extra cubes. Check out the inline section, there is a fella now posting about his stroker, titled something to the effect of "My 300 build".

What do you have to start with as far as a longblock? What is your HP and TQ goals? Whats the budget look like?

I have a 351W stroker. I you want to know more about the 351 let me know.

It is in a car but, the dyno numbers at the rear wheels are 345hp@5800rpm and 420ft-lbs@3500rpm.

This is with a 600cfm carb, and no real tuning of the car yet that is just my base line #'s
