93 ranger 3.0 automatic
Hello,
I had an expensive problem with the 4 speed tranny.$1200 in parts and $650 labor to rebuild it. The front pump was pushing oil out. Service writer at GBT chewed me out for not having fluid changed regulary. He said whenever someone buys a used vehicle to have ALL fluids changed.I had truck for about 2500 miles.
Though truck had 98+ thousand miles he felt it could have lasted longer with periodic fluid changes.The big thing was that once tranny opened they will not put it together with questionable parts because it is so expensive just to have a look.
So please get your fluids changed.
Poorer but knew better.
